The cast members of "Battleship" were all on hand at the film's world premiere in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday, April 3. Stealing the limelight during the special screening event taking place at the Yoyogi National Stadium First Gymnasium were Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker.
Riri, who plays weapon expert Cora Raikes in the Hasbro film, opted to offer a cozy look by wearing bright blue pajama-esque top and pants, which are designed by Emilio Pucci. The Bajan songstress finished off her simple look with nude-colored heels by Manolo Blahnik and accessories by Tom Ford.
In contrast to Riri's comfy outfit, Brooklyn went with a classy look. The blond beauty rocked an elegant Stella McCartney blue dress that has white details on the sides and a golden belt. She paired it with Bvlgari jewelries and shoes by Jimmy Choo.
Leading man Alexander Skarsgard looked dapper in Dolce&Gabbana suit. He was joined by male co-star Taylor Kitsch who looked sleek in two-piece gray suit. Director Peter Berg was also spotted at the special screening event, which was attended by around 5,000 fans who wanted to watch the sci-fi movie.
Of why he decided to hold the world premiere of the navy vs. alien war movie in Japan instead of the U.S., director Berg said, "By hosting the world premiere of 'Battleship' in Japan, we celebrate our countries' shared love of epic adventure."
"Our heroes - Lt. Hopper of the U.S. Navy and Capt. Nagata of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces - bring their crews together to battle an alien threat that emerges from the Pacific," he explained. "We hope those coming to Yoyogi are as excited to see Battleship's international sailors in action as we are to show our film on opening night."
"Battleship" centers on an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as the Earth fights for survival against a superior force. It follows an international naval fleet at Pearl Harbor which engages in an intense battle against an alien race known as "The Refents". Also supporting the film are Liam Neeson, Hamish Linklater, Tadanobu Asano, Josh Pence and Peter MacNicol.
The apocalyptic action movie will open in theaters nationwide on May 18.
