Sony 35 DSLR camera announced

Sony, fresh from announcing its latest interchangeable lens camera, has also revealed the details regarding its newest entry-level DSLR - the Sony α35 (or Sony SLT-A35).

Using the same translucent mirror tech that we've seen in Sony's α33 and 55 models, the Alpha 35 has a 16.2 effective megapixels Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, can shoot video at 1920x1080, 50i AVCHD and packs a Bionz image processor.

sony-alpha-35-dslr-camera Its tele-zoom high speed shooting mode means you can shoot at 7fps whilst at 1.4x magnification and there’s also a rapid 5.5fps drive mode offering full-resolution continuous shooting with tracking AF.

Its max ISO is 12800, it has a 3-inch LCD display (921k dot resolution) and it packs HDMI-out. The α35 is compatible with Sony A-mount lenses, as well as Minolta and Konica Minolta AF lenses.

Out in August, no price details have yet been confirmed.

Sony has also revealed that on 20 June, version 2.0 of the α33 and α55 will be available for free. This update adds the "Picture Effect" function.
